What works in a London cemetery
Hardy sedum, lavender in sunnier plots, hardy geraniums, heathers, dwarf spring bulbs, pansies and violas for winter colour, ivy where permitted, box or dwarf hebe for structure.
Most cemeteries restrict height and what can grow outside the kerb line. We know the rules where we work and check before we plant.
Fresh or artificial
Fresh flowers look better and mean more, lasting one to two weeks in a cemetery vase — good for regular visits or a specific date.
Good artificial flowers hold up for a full season — the practical choice if the grave is visited only a few times a year. We use UV-stable ones and replace them rather than leave faded ones in place.
